Even though e-learning in further education and training is becoming ever more established, it is frequently deployed using a separate medium.
Interactive options are mostly restricted and tailored to LMS and the contents created for it. When it comes to theoretical matters this is not
necessarily a problem, but in combination with practical issues it makes life very difficult. In particular, the incredibly important feedback
gained through tasks and exercises should not need to be taken into the work environment by the learner. Ideally the learner takes this in directly
in a workplace situation, also directly getting his or her feedback on successes, failures and corrections.
V.Learn removes this "media break" by integrating the Learn Management System (LMS) directly into Visual Studio™ and thus into the learner's future
work environment. V.Learn implements and meets all current e-learning standards and specifications, additionally facilitating the enrichment of
learning material through Visual Studio™ interactivity by exploiting the possibilities offered by Visual Studio™ Extensibility. In this way, for
example, it is possible for the learner to complete a task by the direct use of Code Editor and to get the feedback displayed directly in the same
medium (screenshots/demos to follow).
As soon as an executable prototype is ready, the V.Learn LMS will be made available as an Open Source project on CodePlex.
